November 21st marked my Work Freedom Day so I’m celebrating this week! This date is when my dividend income covers the rest of my expenses for the year! The fact that the day occurs at the end of the year means that I still have a lot of work to do to move the date forward to the first of January!
In reality, I’m not planning to retire any time soon and all dividend income I’ve earned has been re-invested back into my portfolio. However it’s a very tangible milestone and definitely a nice feeling to know when my dividend income is taking over my work income so that I don’t have to.

Following hot on the heels of yesterday’s catchup post; it’s Sharebuilder Tuesday again today and it’s back once more to the Consumer Defensive sector. I went through this sector only last month when I bought a mix of CLX, PG and KMB although the valuation is lower than usual because I sold my shares in TAP last month and I didn’t buy new shares in this sector with the proceeds.

I’ve updated my UK Dividend Champions list for November. One stock was promoted from a Challenger to a Contender and two current Contenders had their history length increased. Sadly one former Contender was retired from the list – read on to find out who and why!
You can find the list directly via UK-DividendChampions(DL).xlsx or from the main page.

October was quite the rollercoaster ride with the S&P 500 losing nearly 8% of its value from its high on September 18 to October 16. It then went and promptly regained the losses, ending the month at an all time high. Aside from that drama there was little excitement in my world – so here’s my net worth update and progress towards my goals, October 2014 style!
