September 2015 – Dividend income and portfolio update

Once again I’m a dollar short in my updates but fortunately not in my dividend income; it’s almost December and I’m only just getting my September update out. But now that I’ve prepared the bulk of the updates for December’s upcoming Dividend Champions List, it’s time to sit back, listen to Amy Macdonald and run through some (old) numbers.

September Stock Purchases

I didn’t make any stock purchases in August (excluding my usual fund investments anyway) – this was more about not making a decision on what to buy than any specific plan not to buy. I made two purchases in September to compensate; both added to existing positions and were made via my CapitalOne account.

March Purchase #4 – Energy sector

Last Tuesday I made my 4th Sharebuilder automatic purchase in March and I decided to add to existing positions in the Energy sector. There’s another purchase opportunity this week since there are 5 Tuesdays in the month, however I’m not making an additional purchase this week.

Energy sector dividend stocks – December purchase #1

This is hopefully my last catch-up post and reflects my automatic Sharebuilder purchase last week on December 2nd. Given the latest collapse in oil prices, it’s perhaps not surprising that the Energy sector became the lowest weighted in my portfolio. The sector dropped past both Utilities and Healthcare in just one week.
